Hi, my name is rokryan, I am a creative professional based in Perth. Most of my skills are in design fields though I do like to cut code as well. I have been a creative for nearly 5 years now and have started to refine my skills in interface design. Presently, I work for a IT company in Perth and have been for nearly a year now but am also available for freelance web design. Since starting full time work I have been involved in various large projects and have gained some good exposure to the industry as a whole. Being the head of the creative department does in essence allow me to express a creative opinion though I have learned now, when to defend it and when to be flexible.

BACKGROUND

Having completed 2 diploma’s in the fields of IT and multimedia I pride myself in being an excellent all rounder. Since studying I have gained further knowledge and experience in the fields of graphic design and print media. In 2006 I recieved first recognition of my skills and hard work by winning ‘Best Student website’ at the WA webawards for Patti Haak - a flash based e-commerce photo gallery. Originally, I was drawn to the field through a love of aesthetic’s in graphic’s, animation and film. Over my time studying I began to apreciate the engineering and mechanics in the art of writing code. Over time I have harnessed the knowledge of XHTML, CSS, PHP, MYSQL, SMART-E, XML and Actionscript to produce many internet based projects.

PRESENT

Most of the work I recieve these days is web design or multimedia related I am keen to take on work in other fields such as graphic arts and print. It is in my nature to want a variation of different work as like to be challenged. Being quite the perfectionist I aspire to create unique products of the highest possible calbre. It has been said that I have good leadership qualities, personally, I do enjoy the aspects of project management, having decision making control of projects excites and enthuses me. Though its all about earning your stripes and doing the time, it certainly helps if you love what you do. I have found that it is easier to understand why design works when are able to justify every bit of it.
